Certifications & Affiliations
At Get Lit Outdoor Lighting, our commitment to excellence is reflected in our ongoing education, industry involvement, and pursuit of professional growth.
Our founder, Scott Beard, is a proud graduate of The Pennsylvania College of Technology and holds a number of specialized credentials that highlight our dedication to both technical skill and artistic design.
We proudly maintain the Certified Low Voltage Lighting Technician (CLVLT) certification from the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals (AOLP). We are also preparing to pursue the advanced Certified Outdoor Lighting Designer (COLD) program through AOLP.
In Spring 2024, we completed the ILLI Intensive Course through the International Landscape Lighting Institute. We continue to engage with ELLI to refine the emotional and environmental impact of our designs.
We are Garden Light LED–Certified Landscape Lighting Designers & Installation Specialists and have earned certifications from the Christmas Light Installation Pros Association (CLIPA) in both 2023 and 2024. We also hold the OMNI RGB Lighting Certification.
Our involvement with Ryan Lee’s Landscape Lighting Secrets and 1:1 Private Client Coaching keeps us at the forefront of lighting industry strategy and innovation.
We are proud members of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral and the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association (CCCIA), as well as an Accredited Business with the BBB.

How We Got Started
In 2005, Scott and his wife relocated from Maryland to Florida in search of better weather and new opportunities. Weekend landscaping projects at their home soon sparked Scott’s passion for outdoor lighting.
He purchased a landscape company and expanded services to include lighting. But his heart remained in illumination. Eventually, Scott sold the landscape business to launch Get Lit Outdoor Lighting and focus exclusively on his passion.
